EXCELLENT!! (5 out of 5 Stars!) By Michael - Jul 24, 2009 A friend of mine persuaded me to try out the Kickboxing program at American Top Team-Boca. I went in not really knowing much. I have been a fan of boxing and of the UFC as well, but I never had any real training. The Instructors were great. They took some time aside for me to show me the basics on how to throw a punch correctly, kick with power and have a good fight stance. When I joined the rest of the class the other students were helpful when we would partner up and remind me to keep my technique in place. Not once was I made feel like the new guy, or that I was beneath anyone. Boca is a fantastic place to train and I highly Recommend it to everyone. Fantastic gym!... (5 out of 5 Stars!) By Michael - Jul 24, 2009 I've been doing BJJ on and off for about 3 years now, and when I recently got back I decided to come here, Boca MMA. It's a bit further than my old gym, but it's well worth it. I get a lot more attention with my techniques and my BJJ game has improved tremendously. I feel more motivated now that I'm at this gym. Everyone is really friendly from the first day you start. You really feel like you're part of a family. Charles McCarthy does nothing but encourages you and make you feel at home. He's a great trainer and I highly recommend this place if you want to learn BJJ, Kickboxing, MMA or if you just want to get in shape and have fun. Excellent Environment (5 out of 5 Stars!) By James - Aug 25, 2007 I had never done any sort of martial arts before, but as a fan of the UFC I was very curious about it. I called Charles McCarthy, the owner and he immediately made me feel comfortable, and made me feel like it was something that I could do. He creates a very non-intimidating environment very conducive to learning. I was very nervous about getting started, but I've been training for about 4 months now, and it will become a permanent part of my life. If you have any curiosity about ultimate fighting, mixed martial arts, brazilian jiu-jitsu, and/or kickboxing you should give them a call.
